Developing positive customer experiences

Managing the two car parks on behalf of Land Securities and the St David’s Partnership, we're making sure parking is delivered seamlessly as part of the shopping experience at Cardiff St David's shopping centre.

The NCP team is experienced, dedicated and incredibly focused on both delivering commercial results and ensuring both car parks lead the way in terms of operational management. The team is extremely hands-on and is delivering far above our expectations.

Steven Madeley, General Manager for Land Securities

Delivering more than just spaces

Since the car parks opened in 2009, we’ve served more than 2.1 million customers a year and delivered numerous operational and commercial benefits, including:

  • Growing volume and revenue by 10% and 9% respectively through a combination of exceptional customer service and operational standards plus commercial activity.
  • Improving the car park layout; moving the disabled spaces so they are closer to the lifts and redesigning exit roads to improve traffic flow. This has reduced exit times at busy periods.
  • Reducing energy consumption by 50% by replacing lighting with energy efficient LED units. This also made the car parks lighter and brighter for customers.
  • Making safer parking our top priority through regular patrols and talking to customers to address any concerns. Both car parks have been awarded the Park Mark standard for safety.
  • Delivering added value to customers and additional revenue to Land Securities by introducing a waterless car wash and increasing the number of valet spaces.
  • Providing discounted parking for over 1,000 employees within the centre.
  • Teaming up with the local community to support the YMCA, the centre’s dedicated charity.
  • Supporting events for organisations such as Cynnal Cymru and cleaning up endangered wetland areas.

The St David’s relationship is something that has grown over the years; our collaborative working approach continues to increase revenue, year on year – 79% increase in revenue since 2010 – even in a stagnating retail market.

A customer’s first impression of a shopping centre is usually the car park. And we understand how to make this count to help you attract tenants, retailers and shoppers to maximise your asset value. We work in partnership with shopping centre owners, managers and retailers throughout the UK to ensure customer parking is delivered seamlessly as part of the overall experience.
