The new £20m custom-built multi-storey car park will service Belfast Harbour’s £275m, mixed-use City Quays development, as well as providing convenient parking for guests at the AC by Marriott Hotel. What’s more, commuters to Northern Ireland’s capital city and visitors to nearby areas – including the popular Odyssey Area – will also be able to take advantage of the safe and secure parking facilities.
This announcement comes after NCP committed to significantly expanding its property portfolio, setting its sights on city centre location across the UK. City Quays is NCP’s third car park in Belfast city centre and the company continues to actively seek new sites and contracts across Northern Ireland.
Lee Holland, Property Director at NCP, said: “The City Quays development has transformed the Belfast waterfront, quickly establishing itself as a commercial and leisure hub for the City. As such, there is a real need for parking facilities that meet the needs of its many visitors. At NCP, we believe that by working closely with property owners and developers themselves, we’re able to create an overall experience – whether in retail, parking or commercial – that is consistently premium and puts the customer first throughout. We hope that this partnership marks the start of a strong relationship with Belfast Harbour Commissioners and the next step in expanding our property portfolio throughout Northern Ireland.”
Graeme Johnston, Belfast Harbour Property Director said: “We are delighted to be starting 2019 with the opening of the new car park at City Quays. Belfast Harbour has always known that providing high quality parking facilities was essential for occupiers and to the ongoing development of City Quays and we’re pleased that these new facilities are now open for business. City Quays counts well-known businesses such as Baker McKenzie, TPiCAP, UTV and U105 among its existing tenants and is also home to the AC Hotel by Marriott. We are sure that all of our tenants and visitors will benefit from this latest investment.”
The striking blue-finned new car park, designed by RPP Architects, utilises ticketless ANPR technology and offers a pre-book service, helping to provide customers with a seamless parking experience. What’s more, the site also supports NCP’s account-based payment solution, ParkPass. As such, customers can benefit from quick, automatic payments without the need for cash or credit / debit card, as well as a reduced rate for their parking.
