For the first time, leading national parking provider NCP has made it possible to pre-book spaces in its car parks on a mobile phone. The service means that NCP will reserve a space (subject to availability at the time of booking) so it’s ready for customers to drive into – when they want it, where they want it.
Working with mobile parking apps including Just Park and Park Jockey drivers will be able to guarantee themselves a space when they most need it.
Spaces can be booked up to 12 hours before they are required so that customers who need a space to visit the theatre, head to the shops during busy periods or are planning to go to a gig can be certain of parking nearby. NCP car parks in the very centre of major cities including London, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol will all be made available for pre-booking.
From 16 October, customers need simply to access Just Park or Park Jockey, select a space in the site where they need to park and book it. There is no charge over-and-above standard parking rates for doing so.

We’ve all been in a position where we’re running late for an event and are desperate to find a parking space but can’t. Or we’ve been hunting for parking during busy shopping periods – especially in the run-up to Christmas. Well now that can be a thing of the past and customers can be sure of a space when and where they need it – for the time they want to be there – and book and pay for it all on their smartphone.
NCP is planning to give access to its pre-book API integration software to a range of new online partners covering major arenas, hotels, rail ticketing sites, airlines and other travel providers to sell parking as part of other reservations or purchases. This will enable brands to use the technology to offer spaces as part of their own booking process, so that customers can secure parking as part of planned trips.
