NCP launches NCP ParkPass, an innovative new cashless parking solution

NCP, the UK’s largest parking operator and retailer, has launched NCP ParkPass, a new account-based payment solution that provides quick, automatic payments that can be used in place of cash or credit / debit cards at payment machines and also gives customers a reduced rate for their parking.

Following a successful pilot of the solution, NCP ParkPass is now available at over 130 sites nationwide and will be rolled out across more of the NCP estate over the coming months.

This latest innovation from NCP has been developed in conjunction with its technology partner Advam and is designed to provide customers with a frictionless way to access car parks and pay for parking. Registered account holders receive an NCP ParkPass card which is simply inserted on arrival and on exit at the barrier of any enabled car park. Payments are then calculated (currently with a minimum 10% discount) and automatically processed.

NCP ParkPass is also being used to fulfil all B2B closed user group discounted parking deals.

The NCP ParkPass launch comes after a number of new innovations from NCP aimed to improve the parking experience for customers and support integration with 3rd parties.  These include digital pre-booking and yield management that guarantee customers a space at over 200 towns and cities in the UK as well as major airports and selected Virgin Train car parks; season tickets that offer corporate clients and regular customers the best possible rates at single or multiple sites; and the NCP Gateway card, an integrated B2B account based payment solution allowing businesses to better manage travel costs across all of their staff and contractors.

Going forward, NCP is continuing to develop the NCP ParkPass proposition and looking at further ways to enhance the customer experience. A dedicated App plus pre-built APIs enabling easy integration with other 3rd parties are already in the pipeline, and the service will also look to utilise QR code recognition enabling quicker driver access to sites.
