NCP, the nation’s leading parking retailer and operator, has partnered with CityCo and Manchester Business Improvement District and is working alongside the city’s 380 retailers in the sponsorship of Dig the City.
Kicking off on 31 July, Dig the City will see the centre of Manchester burst into bloom for seven days as 30 Show Gardens and installations spring up across the retail centre.
On the theme of “Interact and Innovate”, the seven day spectacular will also see special events taking place at major Heart of Manchester BID retailers including Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Manchester Arndale, LK Bennett and House of Fraser.
In previous years the event, which is designed to attract footfall to Manchester’s thriving retail districts, has attracted over 1 million people.
As well as supporting a variety of Dig the City’s events and exhibits, NCP is also offering a discount to visitors who want to visit the event – taking 25% off the cost of pre-book parking across a number of its central car parks.
Sean Fenney, Head of Operations at NCP Manchester said:
NCP has always looked to become a contributor to the communities that we operate in, and what better way than supporting events that benefit both the public and businesses?
“Dig the City offers something for all the family – with personalities that range from CBeebies’ Mr Bloom to Diarmuid Gavin, to attractions including great food and drink – with a host of cocktail events – and fantastic live music.
“It’s a week during which the heart of Manchester blooms brighter than ever and we’re very proud to support that.”
Dig the City's Festival Producer Nelson Beaumont-Laurencia added, "Dig the City is blossoming and 2015's the biggest yet, with more show gardens and installations than ever before. We're thrilled NCP have decided to support the event once again."
